PROVIDE CARE SUPPORT WHICH IS
RESPONSIVE TO THE SPECIFIC
NATURE OF DEMENTIA.
THIS TRAINING IS A COMPULSORY UNIT OF
CERTIFICATE 3 AGED CARE WORK.

TRAINING IS SUITABLE FOR PEOPLE WORKING IN THE COMMUNITY AND THE AGED CARE INDUSTRY, INCLUDING:

  • COMMUNITY SUPPORT WORKERS
  • CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RECEPTION
  • PROJECT COORDINATORS
  • DAY CENTRE STAFF
  • EXTENDED CARE ASSISTANTS
  • LEVEL 2 WORKERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO UPGRADE TO LEVEL 3 IN LINE WITH NATIONAL TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT WILL BE TAILORED

TO SUIT PARTICIPANTS FROM DIFFERENT
CULTURAL AND LANGUAGE BACKGROUNDS.

TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED BY ESSET AUSTRALIA.

The training is FREE OF CHARGE

And in contact with people with dementia through your work).

Cross Cultural Awareness Training

Session Outline
9.00 am to 4.30 pm.
Registration 8.45 am.


• Migrants & Refugees in Australia
• Torture & Trauma Issues for Refugees
• Culture & Intercultural Communication
• Working with Interpreters
• Community Panel with members of Migrant
& Refugee Communities


There will be presenters from the following
programs:


• Aged Care - working with frail elderly
migrants and their carers
• Phoenix Centre - providing counseling
service for survivors of torture and trauma
• Settlement - working with humanitarian entrants
living in Australia 6 months to 5 years


A light lunch, morning & afternoon tea will be
provided. Please advise of any special dietary
requirements on the registration form.


Training Cost: $110 incl. GST per person
