What is the difference between low and high care in residential aged care?
If you are assessed as requiring general accommodation and personal care service in a residential facility you will need low level residential care.
If you are assessed as requiring 24 hour care either by a registered nurse or under the supervision of a registered nurse and are functionally very dependent on help for every day activities you will need high level residential care.
What is respite care and where can I get information about respite care?
If you are caring for someone you may need support, respite care is a chance for you and the person you care for to take a break. You can contact the Aged Care Team at the Migrant Resource Centre or find information on respite care from the Commonwealth Carelink Centres.
