Executive Members
Vice Chairperson
Otto De Vries
Otto has been Chairperson of the MRC Board since 2006; born in Holland, Otto feels very much at home in a multicultural organisation. Otto is also a member of the HR Subcommittee, Board Development Group and the Convenor of the Governance Subcommittee at the MRC. Otto and his wife Betty they have contributed thousands of hours in assisting the diverse communities of Tasmania through their involvement as Volunteers with the MRC's HACC program, Settlement Team and Centacare.
Chairperson
Martin Modinger
Martin has been a Committee Member of the MRC Board since 2006 and a member of the HR Subcommittee and the Board Development Group. Born in Austria, Martin holds a number of Volunteer positions including a Peer Educator with the Council of the Ageing (COTA) and a Small Business Mentor with Business Mentor Services Tasmania.
2nd Treasurer
Paul Patel
Paul has been a member of the MRC’s Board and the Treasurer from 2004 to 2010. Paul was born in Fiji. He is a Chartered Accountant and the Convenor of the MRC Finance Subcommittee.
Treasurer
Maureen Rudge O.A.M
Maureen has been a member of the MRC Board since 2006 and became the Treasurer in 2010. She is an Occupational Therapy Consultant and a Justice of the Peace. Maureen is the Convenor of the Phoenix Subcommittee and the Treasurer on the MRC Board. In 2005 Maureen was awarded the Order of Australia medal in recognition of her contribution to community life over many years.
Secretary
Allison Burrows-Cheng
Allison has been a member of the MRC Board since 2006 and Secretary since 2007. She is a Solicitor and former member of the Nursing Complaints Advisory Committee. Allison is a member of the Governance Subcommittee at the MRC.
2nd Secretary
Donald McNicol
Don has been a member of the MRC Board since 2009 and is the Convenor of the MRC Board Development Group. Don is a retired Professor of Psychology (UTas) and a former Vice-Chancellor of the Universities of New England, Sydney and Tasmania respectively. He has served as Commissioner for Universities and Chair of the Universities Council, Commonwealth Tertiary Education Commission.

Alderman Helen Burnet
Alderman Burnet has been a member of the MRC Board since 2009. She is on the Governance Subcommittee and the Board Development Group at the MRC. Helen is an Alderman of Hobart City Council and is active on various key committees including Hobart City Council’s Community Development Committee, the Development and Environmental Services Committee, and the Access Advisory Subcommittee.

Dr Parisa Aminzadeh
Parisa is a medical doctor specialising in radiology, working at Breast Screen Tasmania. Parisa was born in Iran and moved to Australia with her family in 2008. She is interested in in social issues and enjoys being involved with non-governmental charities in Iran for building and renovating schools in rural areas.
Committee Member
Margaret Jessi Baikie A.M.
Dr Baikie is a retired physician and member of the Board since 2009, she is also on the Phoenix Subcommittee. Her community services through the years include roles in numerous volunteer organisations including the Red Cross Transfusion Services, 20 years as a Lifeline volunteer and her tireless work with refugee resettlement programs. She was made a recipient of the Order of Australia in 2009.

Timothy Mangan
Tim has been a member of the MRC Board since 2007 and a volunteer befriender within the Phoenix Centre situated at the MRC since 2005. Tim is the Convenor of the HR Subcommittee and member of the Board Development Group. Tim is a retired Business Development Manager with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO). Tim undertakes consultancy work with a Queensland based company, Enterprise Innovations, as a senior associate.
