Volunteers

Volunteers are needed at our Centre; many diverse and interesting roles are available as part of our migrant and refugee services. Volunteers support our Multicultural Day Centres for seniors, youth activities, aged care programs, gardening, cooking, befriending and employment support services, English language and driving lessons. Please talk to our Volunteer Coordinator to see how you can share some of your time and valuable skills with us.

As part of MRC’s commitment to volunteer recognition and support, an annual Thank You Event is held usually in November which is catered for by MRC staff. As part of National Volunteers Week, an evening get-together is organised at the MRC for volunteers where Certificates of Appreciation are presented to each volunteer. These occasions amongst others are wonderful opportunities for volunteers to speak to one another about their experiences.

Thank you to all of our volunteers who contribute thousands of hours of their time, skills and expertise. We appreciate the generosity of your time which is highly valued.

The MRC also recognises the invaluable contribution that community groups perform in the settlement experience. This includes dances, performance and other activities at various events.

If you would like to become a volunteer please complete our Volunteer Application Form and contact reception at 03 3221 0999 or email reception@mrchobart.org.au to make an appointment with our Volunteer Coordinator. Please note all of our volunteers are subject to reference reports and the National Police Check.
