The Migrant Resource Centre in partnership with the Glenorchy City Council celebrates Refugee Week with an exhibition of arts and craft showing traditional skills and practices of people from a refugee and migrant background living in Tasmania. This project is funded by the Community Capacity Building Grants Program 2009-10. |

Owning Your Own Home Workshop |
This workshop will be held at Tasmania Polytechnic on Friday 4th June from 10.30 until 1.00pm. Guest speakers will be Charles Badenach a principal at Shadforths and Helen Kent who is a conveyance specialist also from Shadforths. David Harrison from Housing Tasmania will speak about what DHHS Housing Tasmania can offer and Kari Fone from The Smith Family will be presenting the ‘Saver Plus’ matched savings program. Community Partners Program State-wide Forum |
The Migrant Resource Centre Community Partners Program State-wide Forum will be held at The Grange Meeting & Fundtion Centre, Campbell Town on Friday 28th May from 9.30 am - 3.30 pm. The forum will focus on aged care services and palliative care issues for older people from migrant and diverse backgrounds for commmunities, diversional therapists and aged care services throughout Tasmania. To ensure a place at the forum please complete the registration form and send to Suzanne by 1st May. This CPP project is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing under the Community Partners Program. |

Come on a journey of mixed cultures with singing, dancing, alpenhorns, cowbells and yodelling. A combined concert featuring the Australian Rosny Children's Choir, the Tassie Pinoy Ensemble, the PACT Dance Group, the Hobart German Choir and the German Folk Dance Group. Multicultural Voices - State Election Forum |
The Migrant Resource Centre, Multicultural Council of Tasmania (MCoT) and TasCOSS invite you to a special forum to discuss issues for Tasmania's multicultural communities in the 2010 State Election. Local candidates in the State Election from all major political parties will be in attendance. Health Services? Education? Employment? Public Transport? Translation Services? Social Inclusion? School Holiday Information Session - Free BBQ and PCYC Mobile Activity Centre |
This year the MRC is working with the Glenorchy Library and Glenorchy City Council/PCYC Mobile Activity Centre to put on a school holiday information session for youth and their families from HE/Refugee Backgrounds. Parents are encouraged to come along with their children to this event. It will also be supported by the MY School’s Voice Group who will welcome families, youth and groups and support showing them to the various service providers who will set up with their school holiday information, and registration forms.
