Justice Support Worker Project
The Justice Support Worker Project aims to ensure Clients who are proceeding through the justice system understand information relating to their legal matter and are treated in a culturally sensitive manner.
Clients will also have an opportunity to attend information sessions on key aspects of Australian law.
The Justice Support Worker Program provides the following services:

Advoacy for Clients proceeding through the justice system.

Point of liasison between the Police, Courts, Legal Aid, Department of Justice, Corrective Services and Clients.

Support for Clients to report incidences to the Police and the Office of the Anti-Discrimination Commissioner.

Education and awareness raising on legal issues for Clients.

Capacity building for services who work with Culturally and Lingusistically Diverse (CaLD) community members.

Referrals to relevant agencies within the justice system such as Legal Aid, Hobart Community Legal Service and Women's Legal Service.

Referrals to other relevant services as required.
